FRONT AND BACK PANEL GIRDLE

or

SIX SECTION GIRDLE

LESSON 4

To begin, prepare the foundation outline of first lesson and continue as follows: Please watch the opposite diagram. Make front and back panel by measuring from 1 to 2, 3 inches, and from 3 to 4, 3½ inches. Measure from 6 to 7, 3 inches, and 8 to 9, 3½ inches. Draw lines from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9. Take out each side, from 2 to 18 and 19, ¼ inch, and curve from 18 and 19 down to 5. Take out from each side of 4 to 20 and 21, ½ inch, and curve from 20 and 21 up to 5.

Do likewise with the b. ack panel. Take out each side of 7 to 22 and 23, ¼ inch, and curve from 22 and 23 down to 10. Now take out each side of 9 to 24 and 25, ½ inch, and curve from 24 and 25 up to 10.

Divide the space from 2 to 7 and 4 to 9, making 11 and 12. Draw a line from 11 down to 12. Finish the side seam by taking out the dart the same way as in lesson 2. See the over-amount of waist measurement by measuring the space from I to 18, from 19 to 23 and from 22 to 6. If, for instance, there are two inches over waist measurement take out 1 inch at each side of 11 to 13 and 14 and then curve from 13 and 14 down to 15, which is the hip line. Take out at the bottom also the same way as in the previous lesson, from 12 to 16 and 17, 1 or 1½ inches, as you choose, and curve from 16 and 17 up to 15. Now lengthen from 16 and 17 down to X about ¾ inch and connect X16 to the front bottom at 3 and X17 to the back bottom at 8, as shown on the opposite diagram.
